a it has nice typographic organization.b I have to start someplace, I m no dummy, and all of the other philosophy overviews at major chain bookstore were from a historical perspective.c the author makes some leaps and assumptions and is all over the place at times, which is annoying, but I appreciate that organizes by the major themes of philosophy rather than by the major people in philosophy.

This was a good, very broad overview which is exactly what I was looking for Since so many topics and philosophers were touched on each one was only given cursory mention, but the book at least pointed the way to further study.

A great introduction to philosophy even if you have read some Good categorisation, clarification of concepts, and easy to understand examples At the same time, does not become boring Strongly recommended for anyone interested in the deeper questions.
