If you're of a certain age and have been addicted to armchair mountaineering books, this one is outstanding. The Scottish & British, Alps, early Himalayan climbing scene starting in postwar period through early '70's. Tom Patey was apparently an extremely skilled climber (climbed with Joe Brown, Chris Bonington, Royal Robbins, and the like), besides being very funny writer.
