Aw man, this manga was such a disappointment. I was eagerly looking forward to the anime, since it actually sounded kind of cute and amusing. Something I could watch after work with a big goofy grin on my face. Note how those were my only expectations. I didn't know anything about it besides the whole "merman living in my bath tub" premise. Yeah, I know, more fool me, but that's all I was looking for. So, I started reading the manga.Orenchi no Furo Jijou falls into this terrible trap where the [...]

4.5 stars. I am so happy that Seven Seas is publishing this one in English.I loved the anime, so I was absolutely squealing when I heard about the manga being licensed. And now, after a long wait, the manga is finally out and I finally had a chance to read it!I have to say it took me some time to read this one, this I can blame on two things, one a busy day, and two the fact that the anime followed the manga quite closely. So most if not all of the jokes were known to me, and I can tell you that [...]

Me encanta! ♥ MT es demasiado bueno! Quiero saber de estos chicos *^*Por cierto, la hermanita de MT es demasiado weird Tiene un complejo de edip [...]

Cute and fun story. Very silly. I enjoy it a lot. The little sister creeps me out a bit.

Having a bad day and looking for some fluff to cheer you up? Look no further, because this manga is it. From the other reviews and the description, you learn a young high school boy finds and saves a merman who from then out, lives in his bath tub. I originally saw the anime through a streaming service a couple of seasons back and thoroughly enjoyed it. To be honest I did like the anime better just because the four panel presentation to me, doesn't always flow as well as an anime. There isn't ma [...]

This adorable story involves a high-schooler, Tatsumi and his friend living in his own bathtub, the merman Wakasa. Tatsumi's life takes the weird turn when Wakasa moves in and his friends start coming over. The octopus, Takasu, the adorable jellyfish, Mikuni and their little snail friend, Maki. But not just the crazy hybrids, there's also Tatsumi'sadorablelittle sister, Kasumi~! This story is full of heart-warming comedy and I just love it! Although it rarely updates, I still really love the plo [...]

The anime is honestly better than the manga. First of all Seven Seas decided to edit out SOME of the Japanese SFX and they seem to do it arbitrarily in this manga. Which makes some of the scenes looks goofy. Next the manga is in a 4-koma style format which sometimes doesn't lend itself well to the action going on. Lastly the little sister is even more sexualized on this. Which is super gross since she's what 10 or something. I have no idea why the manga-ka decided to do her that way, unless they [...]

Отборная наркомания. С одной стороны смешно, с другой хватаешься за голову читая все это. Хотя, если учитывать факт того, что писалось это все для развлечения аудитории, то простить можно. Но обещанного сёнэн-ая нет.

//I did not read the Japanese version, it's just that the English editions aren't on yet.//I have decided that if I ever get asked about Manga by someone that that's curious, one of the first things I'm going to show them this because if they can't handle this weirdness then they probably won't be able to cut it with anything else.I first saw the Anime adaptation of this on Crunchyroll. It's one of those weird 5 minute episode series that you watch and think "I like this but it's really odd and [...]

This story is silly and sweet in a perfect combination. Watched the anime (one season that is more or less volume 1) and just loved. Ordered the following volumes 2-6 since they have been released in English. Thank goodness!

I'm going to go ahead and classify this as yaoi for my purposes though its more action/comedy and vaguely shoujo. Its just a collection of short stories and the anime is so friggin' funny and hilarious I've watched it several times but I love it!!

Odd but cute. I had expected it to have a little more substance but there's not much plot. It's very episodic and has very little running plot, so it's a very light read.

THIS MANGA WAS ADORABLE!I read the whole volume in one sitting, on my laptop. I usually try not to read too much off my laptop screen because my eyes are bad to begin with (note the coke bottle glasses haha), and it tires my eyes out. But I just couldn’t stop reading this manga! Also, I can’t afford to buy it in paperback just yet, but you can bet that I’m going to get the whole translated series once my next paycheck comes in!The story is fluffy and cute so far, although there’s certain [...]

Mild mannered teenage boy Tatsumi rescues a merman in the park. Wakasa the self-absorbed merman moves in to Tatsumi's bath tub, sponges off him and what's more has lots of friends over - Takasu (half octopus) Mikuni the jellyfish boy and Maki a hermit crab hybrid.Technically this ticks a lot of boxes for me - merman romance, aquatic hybrids, merman comedy - and it is cute and fun don't get me wrong but its a bit repetitive - Wakasa wants something and Tatsumi usually caves in. The characters are [...]

A more direct translation of the title would be something like "Company in the bathroom" which is frankly a better title given how many different guests end up in that tub at one time or another. Some of the other guests include an octopus, a jellyfish, and an electric eel. pussreboots/blog/2017/comm

What happens when a merman moves into your bath tub? Serious, studious Tatsumi is about to find out. One day he rescues someone by the river and takes him home to help him only to realize that he didn't rescue a human, but a merman.Wakasa is a very energetic merman who had to leave his home after tourists started flocking in trying to catch a glimpse of him. Tatsumi rescued him from a dirty, trash filled river and now he is living in Tatsumi's bath tub. This manga is very silly and fun. It follow [...]

"Merman in my Tub" is an interesting little manga. I love merfolk lore, so to see a modern take on what a merman conversing with a human high school student would be like was a welcomed treat. Although the art is sometimes lazy (in certain panels, it is very difficult to see what is going on), I liked the conversations between the two main characters, as well as the cute side characters. It should be noted that I did watch the anime before reading the manga, so I sort of knew where things were g [...]

‘Merman in my Tub’ is a manga that seems basically like an excuse to draw a parade of shirtless bishy boys for volumes on end. It’s also a charming bit of roommate- and fish out of water-humor, pun intended. I binged on all four currently translated volumes this afternoon, and it was a delight. There’s _just_ enough plot and continuity to keep it from being repetitious, and they’ve got a really great odd-couple relationship going on. The merman and student have a very platonic relation [...]

I adore this series! It just hits all the right notes for me: beautiful dudes, yaoi undertones, both adorable and hilarious. I could probably do without the little sister with a brother complex, but you can tell he doesn't encourage her and just loves her like a little sister. It's kind of hard not to love Tatsumi when he's just so adorable. He's a little bit like Haruka of Free! (quiet, keeps to himself), but Tatsumi tends to show his emotions more. He's a nice guy, bringing home this dude and t [...]

I bought the first three volumes on impulse when I came across them at the bookstore, and it didn't disappoint. I love the character designs, and Chapter 22 (in the next volume) is the funniest thing I've read in ages! Don't try too hard to figure out the hows and whys (I kept straining over how Takasu and the other friends keep getting into the house. Through the pipes?) I'm not a fan of the little sister, though. That character type and its prevalence drives me batty, although it's portrayed a [...]

This isn't even really a story; it's more like a collection of small bits of this guys life, and it doesn't seem to have an over-arching goal but I really love it. Too much, probably. Except his sister weirds me out, but other than that every- thing is A+ THE SECOND BOOK IS COMING OUT SOON AND I MUST OWN IT. i must.

This book was surprisingly more amusing than I thought. Tatsumi has got a merman living in his bathtub. He's a bit high maintenance. And, you know, taking up the tub. Tatsumi's hot water bill is through the roof. What's a guy to do with such a peculiar roommate. Cute, much more so than the ridiculously fan service-filled stories in the same vain. Other creatures are starting to appear. Just a fun story.

I am so disappointed in this series! I really wanted to like it and was it took me forever to finish reading it because, hope against hope, I thought if I sat it to the side and waited that it would get better. . . DIDN'T The whole series is just filler! There isn't any development with the characters, or plot, AND the sister is annoying! Seriously she borders on incest with her jealousy (I'm NOT going any further into that). Just save yourself and don't read.

Oh my gosh this is the funniest thing I've read in a long time. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be this funny, but with the basis for the plot line being what it is I really can't help it. The characters are funny, the mini stories are awesome, and altogether this is an amazing manga. I have no idea when I will be able to get volume two but I can hardly wait.

Wellllllll, I marathoned the anime a few weeks ago, (The episodes are like four minutes long, and there's only thirteen, so it's pretty manageable.) and now I kind of want to read the manga. But again, it's the whole "anime has official release and manga doesn't but gah! I want to read it!" case. A pity.

Maybe 2.5 stars. This was entertaining at parts but honestly nothing happened. I love manga but I love it to have an ongoing story, however this was basically just a collection of really short comics. I might have enjoyed this more if this was what I was looking for.
