The desert and the devilThere are many many novels about las Vegas and the mob and how they operated in the 1960s (and perhaps still). Yet the smoke tree town surrounded by the Mojave desert and the people who inhabit it are strong, real and believable characters who I hope are the cornerstones for the rest of the series. I know that area of San Bernardino county and Mr. George certainly wrote a rich description of it. Hope to read all of the series and more as fast as he can write them!
