Hugh Howey hasn't lead me wrong yet, so looked up Matt’s book on600+ pages for $.99? Harry Potter meets Star Wars? Uh…duh. I d [...]

I have been waiting for two years for this book to come out. TWO YEARS!! I would have been really peeved if it turned out like a lot of series where the second book is just OK, but this one wow’ed me as much as the first. Please oh please book Gods (this means you Kadish) do not make me wait another two years to read more about what happens to Earthman Jack and his friends. This second installment takes place almost completely on one planet, whereas the first was a romp around the universe. This book was a 9/10 rating for me.I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, there may also be slight non-specific spoilers, so read ahead at your own risk. This is the second book in the Earthman Jack series and another rollicking space adventure for Jack and his gang of misfits. I read the first book, and really enjoyed it. It was a great read. The second book tops it and then some - it was familiar yet new and so easy to settle in to. Kadish's inimitable style, [...]

I received an ARC of this novel from Matthew Kadish [yay me!].I was thrilled to receive and ingest this novel. I absolutely adored the first book in the series Earthman Jack vs. The Ghost Planet, and this new book did not disappoint. I laughed, I cried, I emoted all over the place while trying not to ruin the book for my daughters. Like any good roller coaster this book took you from highest highs to lowest lows with twists and turns that made you feel as though you might need a chiropractor at [...]

Review:  EARTHMAN JACK vs. THE SECRET ARMY Earthman Jack is a true Flash Gordon for our time, [I'm referencing the original 1930's serials, not the 1990's films.] Despite being a 15-year-old boy without a planet or a father, Jack is strong, righteous, highly intelligent, and possessor of a magnificent code of honor and chivalry. Wherever he goes, adventure, tension, suspense, and death-defying duels are non stop. If you love superheroic science fiction, find it here.

In this second Earthman Jack novel, Jack and friends return to the Imperial Empire homeworld and Anna must resume her princess duties. However, the Deathlords aren't finished with them yet.I really enjoyed this second novel and it went into such detail about the empire and its workings, as well as the backstory of the ancients and their technology. The characters are all wonderfully developed, except perhaps some of the bad guys who keep their motives close to their vest. The story is really inv [...]

This book was a lot of fun to read, it had me laughing out loud through most of it. My only real issue with it is I felt like some of the side storylines could have been cut and it wouldn't have detracted from the plot at all. It was definitely a lengthy book that didn't really need to be. I felt like the beginning of the book was slow going and it didn't really pick up in action until midway through, but once the action finally picked up it was full steam ahead. I really enjoyed how The Doctor [...]

The second book in The Earthman Jack Space Saga by Matthew Kadish. One month after the first book ends, Jack and the rest arrive in Omnicron. But the trouble isn't over. The book got a bit slow while world building and setting up for the climax. Then ends on a disgusting cliffhanger. Grr! And of course, I see no date for the next book to be out so I should lower my rating but I will be nice and not. The first half of the book really dragged for me. But I do understand the importance of building [...]

A Good Long BookI like books which are somewhat complex, and thought provoking. It's best when I can't read the whole book in one sitting, because there is so much depth of characters, situations, and action. Then I have to step away and absorb what I've read and think about it for a while. For me, such books are James Clavell's Taipan, Gai-Jin, and Noble House, neither of which are short books, or Orson Scott Card's Enders Shadow, or Dan Brown's The DaVinci Code.Having said that, Earthman Jack [...]

Watchman Jack Rocks!Even better than the first book! I loved it. Mr.Kadish has literally brought Earthman Jack to life in this second story. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book, and all the characters, but with this one, everything about the characters seemed to come to life. I can't wait for the 3rd book!

Just as silly as the first. An entertaining enough middle-grade book (although I suspect the number of middle-grade kids willing to read a 650-page book is vanishingly small). And much like the first, this novel is in dire need of a solid edit.

WOW!!! I don't even know where to begin. It took a genius to come up with the first book in the saga but an evil genius wrote this one. The sheer amount of awesomeness weaved into each page is enough to blow your mind. Then, there are the bad guys, evil masterminds working from inside to bring the empire to its knees. These guys are not only evil but they are also smart. Each character from the previous book have their own story-lines that intermingles with Jack's. New faces, new environments, ne [...]

If you're looking for a decent book series for your high schooler or older middle schooler, this one is pretty fun. It will eventually be a 7-book series, but only the first two have been published. It's also clear in certain places that the first two books were self-published since no decent editor would let some of the more mediocre writing slip through the cracks - however, the story line is entertaining, the characters evoke emotion in the reader (I found myself rooting for the hero more tha [...]

About a year ago I visited the Comic Con in Las Vegas and stumbled upon a both selling Earthman Jack vs The Ghost Planet. I was intrigued by the synopsis on the back of the book but decided not to buy it at that time. (There were some pretty cool Fallout props in the booth next to them that I really wanted) However, I decided to write the name of the book down just in case I wanted to read it later. About 6 months later, once I exhausted many of the books I wanted to read, I decided to pick up E [...]

Although unavoidably this didn't have the huge impact of the first book, it's still a gripping continuation of Jack's adventures. The politics, especially toward the midpoint of the work reminded me a lot of the Galactic Senate from the Star Wars universe (what little of it I know) and the actual plot was fun to read. There were huge references to all sorts of sci-fi classics (including Dr who, which nobody does) so that was pretty nifty, and I must say I was impressed with Jack as a character b [...]

Solid second effortThe rating of three or four stars is accurate to this book. Through the first half it dragged and was much more stiff as compared to the first book. The last half saves the book, however. He does have a cool cameo, in the first few chapters! Be on the lookout for it!

Fantastic!Matt is an amazing storyteller. There are so many Easter eggs in here that I am sure I missed tons of them. Matt is able to pull in little gems of goodness from other movies and stories and blend them so masterfully into the story of Jack. You never know what reference will show up.I am hooked!

You must read this series. It's the most excited I've been waiting for a book to come out than I've been in several years. Fun, funny, quirky, serious, this series has engrossed me from the first page. And now, who KNOWS how long I'm gonna have to wait for the next one. If you don't like this series, you can go back to your "critics choices"

I couldn't put it down!I love the characters you've created, they are complex and funny and I wanted to know what happened so much that I'm afraid I neglected all kind of tasks to read it through. Can't wait for the next one. I enjoyed all of your literary and movie references! Keep up the good work!
